target practice

in case you're wondering what we've been up to.

and otherwise - the beach, the church, keeping house, the church, hanging out with benj, the beach, and sometimes sleeping.

and upcoming - camp with the kids this weekend, matt's birthday (25!), lots more at the church, and, in the distant future, vacation! we booked half of our tickets toady since they were on sale - we have a way there, now just need to find a cheap way back.

Monday, May 14

it's magic time

when you can drive into the mountains to snowboard in the morning and be back in town for a 2pm tee time enjoying the summer sun. the best life the valley has to offer. or so i'm told, since i neither snowboard nor golf.

i do, however, enjoy lunch time drives just to see the sights. naramata is one of my favorite place - vineyards, rolling hills, amazing lake views, and million dollar homes. in my dreams i live there, in reality i just drive around and take pictures.

Sunday, May 13

it's anniversary week!

we generally don't do big celebrations, but spread out little things through the whole week. i like it better that way.

today was the beach - the first of many fabulous afternoons there, i hope.

Sunday, May 6

i spy...

an antique grey trunk.

it was built by a canadian serviceman while he was stationed in the arctic circle over fifty years ago. and it was $8. EIGHT! i love.

i'm counting this as my welcome to canada present. it's awesome and it's a reminder of canadian history. what more could i want?

Wednesday, May 2

the day i became a resident.

of canada.

today.

fine-a-leigh.

it was really quite anticlimactic. i sat in an office for ten minutes, the nice lady took my old papers and gave me new papers and then it was done. she really was the nicest lady i've talked to in a government office - friendly, helpful, even chatty. then i came home and matt went to work. i expected more stress and agony and more fanfare when it was finished, but it was just a normal day. anticlimactic at it's best.
